The Art of Live Storytelling

Live, improvisational storytelling for schools, libraries, and gatherings

Sarah Lipton storytelling

There is an ancient, living magic in gathering a room of people together to listen, breathe, and co-create a narrative out of thin air. For decades, I have practiced the art of spontaneous, improvised storytelling—a craft rooted entirely in grounded presence, deep listening, and natural resonance.

How It Works

Every session is uniquely alive. We begin with a core theme—either chosen in advance or proposed organically by the group. From there, I invite participants to share the images, words, and emotional sparks that arise for them. In real time, I take those individual threads and weave them into a completely spontaneous, custom-tailored story told right on the spot.

Why We Gather

Storytelling is far more than entertainment; it is a profound mirror. We tell stories because they help everyone in the room feel genuinely seen, heard, connected, and visible. It brings to light the quiet truths that are often hidden beneath the surface. Depending on what the moment calls for, the experience can be deeply healing, moving, humorous, or evocative.

For Communities, Students, and Seekers

Carried forward from ancient traditions into our modern spaces, live storytelling is a gift to share across generations. Whether working with students, adults, or local community groups, my aim is always the same: to bring impact, connection, and pure delight to the forefront.

Bring This Experience to Your Space

Whether you are looking to enrich a local library gathering, bring a unique program to a school district, or weave a spontaneous story into a private community event, I would love to collaborate.
