The Edge of the Inquiry

painting

Multi-Media painting with homemade botanical inks, February 2026

What would happen if you stopped sacrificing your life force, trusted your own vision, and had nothing left to hide?

A reflection from the archives: a series of sharp, uncompromising inquiries on career, presence, creative risk, and the courage to step outside conventional expectation.

What would happen if you stepped outside of your usual routine? What would happen if you chose a more effortless way to work in the world, staying loyal to your vision and claiming true sovereignty over your mind, heart, and body?

What if you allowed yourself to ask all the questions, discovering that you actually enjoyed the process of asking far more than waiting for answers?

On Career & Service

  • What would happen if you decided that the “sickness“ you were recovering from on your days off was actually the misunderstanding that a conventional career required you?

  • What if, instead of slaving in service, you took joy in giving generously where required, but held back to harness sharp discernment before giving recklessly?

  • What would happen if you applied yourself to accomplish exactly what needed to be done, making a concrete decision never to sacrifice your life force for an institution again?

On Presence & Practice

  • What would happen if you achieved a steady state of continuous presence, choosing dancing over grieving, and uproarious laughter instead of complaining?

  • What would happen if you woke up every day and took yourself to the cushion, trusting that by virtue of doing beautiful, deep, meaningful internal work, everything you did out in the world was automatically of benefit to others?

  • What would happen if you truly did not care what anyone ever thought of you ever again?

On the Fear of the Fall

  • What would happen if you got lost again along the way?

  • What would happen if you retreated from the public eye just long enough to completely transform yourself before stepping back into the light?

  • What would happen if your attempt to share your creative vision in the world was a complete and total flop? What would happen if you received feedback you did not like, or if others felt threatened by your awakening?

The Arrival

What if you had nothing left to hide? What if everything you wanted to shield in the past was actually the exact medicine that would help others if they knew about it?

What if, after so many long years of waiting and hard work, your confidence was finally so stable that you could do nothing but accomplish your vision?

What if you took this great risk and discovered that it was worth it?
